For the first time for more than half a century, Warleggan has its own resident curate. On 26 June 2026, Elizabeth (Liz) Lane was formally ordained at a ceremony in Truro Cathedral attended by well wishers from the parish and outside.
Ordinand Liz Lane became The Rev’d Liz Lane when she was ordained Deacon in Truro Cathedral by The Bishop of Truro. Moments after the ordination she was vested in her white stole (the scarf), which was tied around her waist to symbolise the towel which Christ used to wash the feet of the disciples. The word deacon means ‘servant’. Liz is now a Curate in the Benefice of St Neot and Warleggan. A truly historic moment for us all. Please remember Liz in your thoughts and prayers as she begins her ministry and continues as part of a very special ministry team in the Benefice.

The last time we had a member of the clergy actually residing in the parish was when the Reverend Densham lived here; he was the rector of the parish from 1931 to 1953, and is fondly remembered by many for being somewhat unconventional in his approach to his work in the parish.
