Coming up: Skittles, lunches and games

As the evenings start to draw in again, it’s good to know what’s coming up at the Jubilee Hall…

  • Fun for Friday 13thSkittles Evening this coming Friday 13th September at 7pm, the skittles will be dusted off, and you’re all welcome to come along, young or old, to demonstrate (or discover) your skittle-skill.  Come along, whether as a ready-formed team of four or as individuals ready to form a team. Spectators are of course also welcome  There will be a licensed bar, with soft drinks, snacks and pasties on sale, and it should be a great evening.  To help us have an idea on numbers, please leave a message for Jasmina (01208 821223) by this Wednesday (11th Sept)  if you plan to come  – and register your team if you have one (it’s £5 a team)…  more info
  • snip hall-lunch-sept2013Warleggan Lunch in what may develop to be a regular event, lunch is to be served at the hall on Tuesday 24th September at 12.30pm.  Everyone, any age, is welcome, but you MUST book in advance – let Jasmina know (01208 821223)  – two courses, just £4 a head.  Support this new initiative – it’s a great opportunity to catch up with friends and neighbours and put the world to rights….  more info

Other news and events:

  • Parish meeting:  come along on Thursday 12th September, 7.30pm at the hall to discuss whether and to what extent we are interested in developing a Neighbourhood Plan, and whether and how it would like to do this in collaboration with neighbouring parishes.  Other issues may be discussed –  including the new idea from Ocean Housing, now for six houses – see sketch plan  – and they have agreed to extend the deadline for comments til the following day 13th Sept.

  • 12th June, 7.30pm, Jubilee HallJubilee Hall Management Committee meeting –  everyone welcome – maybe you have some fun ideas for this year’s Big Do in the Field’?  Or maybe you’d like to join the committee itself – you may already have heard that they’re keen to get a younger person in on the committee, and/or someone to represent the interests of children and young people.
